What Safe to spend means
- Safe to spend on Home is your spendable cash (bank, debit card, cash and e-wallets) minus bills and card payments still due this month.
- Budgets don't lower it. If your budgets have less left than this figure, a warning in its details says so, because going past a budget is your call and the money is still yours. Savings, credit limits and money people owe you aren't counted.
- It never goes below zero. When your cash is short for this month's bills and payments it shows zero, and the red line under it says how much you're short: that's how much you'd need to move in, or wait for income to cover. Income still expected isn't counted until it arrives.
- The card shows just the figure. Tap it to open the details: a bar showing where your cash goes, then a total for each part (tap one to see its items slide up): cash in your accounts, debts with nothing scheduled, money set aside, bills, card payments, what's left after them and what's left in budgets. Already set aside lists each payment and goal behind its figure, with its date and the account holding the money.
- A bill or card payment you've set money aside for is still due, but it says Set aside instead of an amount to take off, because that money already came off under Already set aside. Each one still shows its full amount, and nothing is counted twice.
- A card or pay-later balance is taken off once, as the payment due this month, so it can be lower than your Total balance without being negative twice over. Debts with nothing scheduled (a person you owe) still keep it from being more than your Total balance.
- The assistant and PC Manager show this same figure. When the assistant talks about money free before payday, that's the cash side: it also keeps your safety buffer and a share of dated goals aside.
