FinFlow Terms of Service
These terms ("Terms") apply to your use of the FinFlow mobile app, its widgets and its PC Manager browser view (together, "FinFlow" or "the app"). FinFlow is developed by Christian Mark Tibong ("we", "us"). By installing or using FinFlow, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
- FinFlow is a tool for keeping track of your own money. It does not connect to your bank and cannot move money.
- It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Decisions you make are your own.
- Your data is stored on your phone, and you are responsible for keeping it backed up and your passcodes safe.
- The app is provided "as is". Always check important figures against your bank and card statements.
1. What FinFlow is
FinFlow helps you record and organise your personal finances: accounts, cards, transactions, budgets, bills, installments, loans, money owed between people, assets and savings goals. It can estimate figures such as balances, statement amounts, interest, loan schedules, depreciation, "safe to spend" amounts and reports.
FinFlow is a record-keeping tool only. It does not connect to banks or card issuers, does not hold money, and cannot make payments, transfers or trades. Any "payment", "transfer", "auto-pay" or "auto-record" in the app only creates a record in FinFlow. It does not move real money.
2. Not financial advice
Information in FinFlow, including the assistant's answers, tips, money coach suggestions, insights and calculations, is general information based on the records you entered. It is not financial, investment, tax, credit or legal advice, and we are not a licensed financial adviser. Calculations are estimates and may differ from what your bank, card issuer or lender actually charges. Before making financial decisions, check your official statements and, where appropriate, ask a qualified professional.
3. Who can use FinFlow
You must be old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian. FinFlow is meant for personal, non-commercial use.
4. Your license to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use FinFlow on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the terms of the store you got it from, such as Google Play. You may not:
- copy, modify, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or publish modified versions of it;
- reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- use the app to break the law or to access data or devices without permission;
- try to bypass the app's security features, such as app lock, backup encryption or the PC Manager access code.
5. Your data and backups
You own the information you enter in FinFlow. It is stored on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy, and we don't receive it.
- Backups are your responsibility. If your phone is lost, reset or damaged, or the app is uninstalled, your data may be lost unless you have a backup. Use FinFlow's backup feature regularly.
- Keep your passcodes safe. Backups are encrypted with your backup passcode and recovery key. We don't have either and can't recover encrypted backups if you lose both.
- Restoring replaces data. Restoring a backup replaces the data currently in the app.
- Exports aren't encrypted. CSV exports and PDF reports are not encrypted. Store and share them carefully.
6. Using FinFlow responsibly
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for checking any transactions FinFlow suggests from bank alerts or receipts before relying on them.
- Reminders and notifications depend on your phone's settings, battery optimisation and permissions, and may be delayed or missed. Don't rely on FinFlow as your only reminder for payments that matter. Late fees and charges from your bank or lender remain your responsibility.
- Keep your device secure with a screen lock. We recommend turning on FinFlow's app lock if you store full card numbers or security codes.
- Only add information about other people, such as names in person accounts or split purchases, if you have a reasonable right to do so.
7. Optional features
Bank alerts. If you turn on notification or SMS alerts, FinFlow reads incoming messages to find bank transactions. Message formats vary, so amounts, merchants or accounts may be detected incorrectly or missed.
PC Manager. PC Manager makes your FinFlow data available to a browser on your local network while it's running. You are responsible for using it only on networks you trust and for turning on its access code. Anyone with access to your network and, if set, the access code may be able to view and change your data while PC Manager is on.
Place reminders and voice questions. These use your phone's location and speech services, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
Some features rely on services we don't control, including Google Drive and Google sign-in, Google Play services, your phone's speech recognizer, and exchange rate providers (Frankfurter and ExchangeRate-API). Their availability, accuracy and terms are their own. Exchange rates are for reference only and may differ from the rates your bank uses. We aren't responsible for third-party services or for changes that stop a feature from working.
9. Intellectual property and trademarks
FinFlow, including its design, code, text and graphics, belongs to us and is protected by law. These Terms don't give you any rights to our name or branding.
Names, logos and card designs of banks, card networks, wallets and other companies that appear in FinFlow are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to help you recognise your own accounts. FinFlow is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies.
10. Prices and purchases
If FinFlow or any of its features is offered for a price, purchases are processed by the app store you use, and that store's payment and refund terms apply.
11. No warranty
To the fullest extent allowed by law, FinFlow is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, that calculations will be accurate, or that data will never be lost.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, money, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use FinFlow. This includes decisions made based on its figures, missed or late payments, fees charged by third parties, and unauthorised access to your device or network. Our total liability for any claim relating to FinFlow will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10 if you paid nothing.
Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits. Where that's the case, these limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer that can't be waived.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using FinFlow at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling deletes the data on your phone, so make a backup first if you want to keep it. If you seriously break these Terms, your license to use the app ends. Sections 2, 5, 9, 11, 12 and 15 continue to apply after your use ends.
14. Changes to the app and these Terms
We may update, change or remove features of FinFlow, or stop offering it. We may also update these Terms. The current version will always be on this page with its effective date, and we'll let you know in the app about significant changes. If you keep using FinFlow after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where you live, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You keep any protections that the consumer laws of your country give you. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest remains in effect.
