Split purchases and recurring bills
- They're kept apart on purpose. A recurring bill adds a new expense on its own each time, while a split purchase was already counted as spending in full on the day you bought it. Making it recurring would count it twice.
- You still see every part coming: More > Recurring lists each split purchase once, on one row with its next part and how many more follow (like Due Dec 1, 1 more after this). A note on that row shows the part you paid last (like 1 of 3 paid on Nov 2, 1 day late), and tapping it opens every part. The next part's date stays the same, and Home and the Coming up widget show what's due, Safe to spend keeps the money for parts due this month, and Payment reminders tell you 3 days before.
- When you pay a part, tap Pay on the Tabby account so it's recorded as a transfer.
- To keep the money ready in a particular account, add an Allocation for the split purchase.
- On a card set to BNPL installments, a payment to the card that isn't tied to one part counts toward its parts, earliest first, up to the parts due by that statement's due date. Those parts show as paid by your card payment. Parts due later stay on their own dates, and Next month and Safe to spend's details list them.
